Today is the one year annivesary of Colorfulhealth
A yellow dress, me longing for color, a water fast and the desire to be more healthy, sparked me to make this account.
The biggest cause to making this account was is the longing for color. Me and my husband had a water fast period and I thought it might be interesting to document it. We fasted 9 days no strict water fast because we also drank tea with ginger and peppermint. After 6 days of fasting I was very weak, then I juice fasted for 3 days. It was an experience that went better than I thought, I wanted to fast to heal the body. I had an inflammation in my shoulder, it got better but it did not heal completely.
The colorfulhealth account had some pictures of me and my husband in underwear because we had hoped for weight loss and thought it was fun to compare before and ater images but suddenly people began to follow us and it became a bit too private so I removed those photos. When we started eating, I continued to photograph our food.
Out on the stairs a summer day, I thought it would be nice with color under the plate, looking down on my dress and thinking how nice it would be to put it underneath, I took off my dress and just wore panties and thought it was beautiful with the yellow patterned dress against the turquoise plate.
For you who do not know, I’m an artist with painting as my speciality, but because of my hurting shoulder I had not painted for a while so I was craving for color. So the feeling when I saw the colors became very strong. I have continued to photograph with my clothes and fabrics. For 13 years I have been working part-time in a fashion shop with Indian clothing and home decor. Almost all the fabrics I photographed comes from there.
I’ve collected and saved clothes that I have bought there, that was good because now when I have lost 20kg I can use them again 🙂 The photos on the account mean a lot to me. It’s fun to think about color and shape when I shop the ingredients to the food and when I arrange it on the plate.
I have been tired for many years and 2 years ago I made a blood analysis on werlabs and discovered that I had a dysfunction in the thyroid gland. I did not want to eat medicine for it but to let my body naturally heal. This made me read a lot about health and changed things in my life. Worked a lot with stress reduction. I attended several mindfulness courses and tried meditating it has made a difference, but when I changed my diet 1 1/2 years ago has meant a lot to my health and I feel stronger and more energetic with 20 kilos less fat on my body. Have also started exercising. When I felt this huge effect, I wanted to learn more. Now I have enrolled a training to become a Certified Paleo Diet and Health Coach at the Paleo Institute in Stockholm. It will be completed in November. It is an education where you work with all the pieces in the wheel of life. Hope for even better knowledge to be able to become healthier primarily but also inspire others to better health. I think it’s so fun that I can now combine my passion for color from my artistry, use all my textiles I have at home (many from my extra job) and combine this with my interest in diet and health. It was fun to write my story about how the account came into being, hope something inspires you.
